  • Many apartment building owners won’t allow their tenants to make any modifications to their buildings, and this includes installing conventional screen doors. Instant screen doors don’t change the basic structure of a door frame, and they can be easily moved to other doorways of the same size.

Features

  • The instant screen door hangs from a tension rod that is attached to the top of the door frame. The screen door is held in place on the sides by loop-and-hook tape fasteners, and it has a double sleeve at the top to allow for height variances in door openings. It’s made of pliable fiberglass mesh that closes automatically once you’ve walked through it, and is kept closed by magnets in the center and on the bottom of the screen.

This product is excellent for blocking out the suns ray from destroying your rug, furniture or simply just to keep the house much cooler. When you have a window solar screen on a window, it blocks out 70% of the harmful suns rays and it also does wonders for your utility bill.

Are you having problems with your pet ripping and scratching the screen? I have got a great product for just that problem. Pet Screen! That’s right, this material is maid to last just like Blue jeans. It’s much tougher that the regular mesh on window screens. If your pets have been tearing at your screens and making holes in them this is sure to stop them! Let me know if you would like a sample and will send you one by mail.

Aluminum and Vinyl Windows

There are hundreds of window manufacturers and just about an equal amount of ways to take screens on and off of them.  My best advice is when dealing with a window that is a vinyl or aluminum the screen will usually come out from the inside, that is you must:

  1. Push the screen frame towards the center of the encasement
  2. Try to push frame up and down to try and make it come loose
  3. Pull in gently from the bottom and that should work.

Dirt and debris will lock screen frame in place, so a good ideal is to use some WD-40 spray in between the screen frame and the window frame to try and make it come loose.

Wood Windows

When your window encasement’s are wood, for example a double-hung window, then putting a screen on and off should be a bit easier.  Wood window usually have hardware on the top and bottom to hold the screen in place, they are called the top jiffy hangers and bottom bail latch.  To put the screen on and if you do have the hardware I just mentioned you have to:

  1. Insert the screen frame in the top jiffy hangers first evenly
  2. once you inserted the screen in the top hardware, push up and make sure the frame is snug
  3. Push frame in from the bottom till it’s flush
  4. Clip in the bottom bail latch and your done

Sliding screen doors take a beating, especially the top and bottom rollers.  To maintain the screen doors in good working condition we recommend you hose them off every six months to get some of the dust and dirt off and after letting them dry apply some WD-40.  This will give them a much longer life and help prevent your sliding screen door from getting stuck or popping of the track.  No one want’s to struggle with a patio screen when just a few minutes every six months can keep it sliding like new
